Activity Profile
Over One Million youth, children and adults from all segments of the society have participated in various SUNFO activities, including Heads of States, Diplomats, UN Officials, Society Leaders, professionals and citizens. Over 1000 Sri Lankan leaders and members have represented various International events and high level world conferences through SUNFO.
SUNFO has been selected as the host organization of South Asian Peace Youth Camp-2011 in Sri Lanka with the guidance of Gandhi Peace Foundation. SUNFO is a partner organization of International Youth Peace Festival, Asian Citizens assembly, United Nations and International Organization Reform Campaign(NSEW), Global Call to action Against Poverty (GCAP), Better Aid Campaign etc. SUNFO will be the Key Organizer across Asia Global Youth Services Day 2012.

SUNFO Commemorations started for the International Year of Volunteers +10th Anniversary (IYV+10)
SUNFO being a truly volunteer social service movement in Sri Lanka officially inaugurated its activities to commemorate IYV+10 by holding a Youth Interaction programme at SUNFO Center at Moratuwa on January 23,2011.
SUNFO selected a 15 member delegation to participate National Integration Youth Camp in Kerala India in Feb-2011 and to have volunteer experiences and interaction with Youth from all parts of India and this 15 Youth were invited for this inauguration.
Days IYV+10 events started with hoisting Sri Lanka, United Nations and SUNFO Flags by Mr.Shanthi Rathnayake(SUNFO Advisor and Consultant of Youth Project), Mr.Aruna (President-LYON) and Mr.Danusha Gunawardena (Leader-SUNFO Youth Group to Kerala). Interaction activities, group discussions and Sramadana to clear premises were in the days activities. Closing Ceremony as held at SUNFO Open Air Stage, Moratuwa in the evening.3 KOIKA Volunteers headed buy Joe Kim, Ms.Chandrika de Zoysa MMC, Dr.M.T.Hemapala and Lion Quintus Rodrigo were Guests for the closing ceremony on the Invitation of SUNFO director General Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetunge.
In his address Dr.Deshapriya S. Wijetunge recalled his memories about the event organized by SUNFO in 2001 at National Youth Service Council auditorium with the participation of 1600 Volunteers and UNV Officers in UN-Colombo as Guests.
